About the Opterra Solutions Invitational
Opterra Solutions Invitational

The Opterra Solutions Invitational (formerly NaturChem Invitational) began as a brainchild of River Bluff Head Baseball Coach Mark Bonnette and River Bluff parent Jeff Parsons. Coach Bonnette was integral in beginning the Red Bank Invitational at White Knoll High School and knew he wanted to begin an elite pre-season high school baseball tournament in the Midlands area.

Coach Bonnette and Coach Brian Hucks, Head Baseball Coach at Lexington High School, then came together and decided to make this tournament one of the best in the state and southeast. In the inaugural year, there were 12 teams, including the defending 3A and 4A state champions in the state of South Carolina. A multiple state championship-winning 3A team, two multiple state championship-winning 4A teams, and several playoff-caliber 3A and 4A programs.

This year (2025), the tournament features a 10-team format. Six of the ten teams are ranked in the top 10 of their respective SC state classes by the SCBCA and include region and state championship programs. Tournament attendees will have the opportunity to watch numerous NCAA Division I prospects in action as well.

The Homerun Derby is a can't-miss event! The fan-favorite competition will take place on Friday night at 7:30 at River Bluff High School.

Jeff Parsons is the tournament director and oversees all aspects of the tournament. This tournament was created to bond a community, showcase the incredible facilities at Lexington & River Bluff High Schools, and create a premier high school baseball tournament with quality teams and competition and a first-rate experience for fans and teams alike.
